1955 -- Easter on St Louis Ave

Comments

Most of these are pictures taken at Easter time on St Louis Ave with my Brownie Hawkeye, a gift from the previous Christmas. It is interesting that I took a bunch of pictures at Christmas and again at Easter and then the camera pretty much retired. I found out that film was a little bit costly, but affordable; however developing the film to get prints was a lot more expensive. The films sat in my drawer for a few years until I got a job at a drug store which had a film developing service.
The first five pictures show Marge and Kathy along with the two Shields girls that matched their ages. The first was taken in the backyard and you can see the apartment buildings in the background and the short picket fence that protected Grandma Rose’s flower garden from all our games and other shenanigans. The other four were taken in the front yard and show the houses across the street. (According to Google Map, the two brick houses are still standing unlike most of the other houses on the block.)
Next we have a picture of Dad and Uncle Leo, Tony and Lennie, Paul and Doris, Grandma and, naturally, a set of Ronnie Boy pictures.
Finally, there is a picture of the grade-school graduate, which was still a big deal in those days.
